How to Apply for a Mobile Trading Business License in Auckland

1. Determine if You Need a Mobile Trading License

A Mobile Trading License allows you to trade from approved locations in public spaces.

• You can operate at up to five different locations at different times under a single license.
• The license can be issued for a period ranging from one month to twelve months.

A Mobile Trading License does not:

• Grant you ownership or exclusive use of the land.
• Provide a permanent site on public land.
• Exempt you from parking restrictions or road rules.

2. Choose Your Trading Locations

• A single Mobile Trading License allows you to operate at up to five fixed locations at different times of the day.
• If you plan to trade simultaneously at multiple locations, you must apply for a separate license for each site.

3. Schedule a Pre-Application Meeting (15 Minutes)

Before applying, you must attend a 15-minute meeting with an inspector to discuss your setup. You’ll need to prepare:

• Details of your trading setup, including any vehicles, tables, chairs, and displays.
• Aerial maps marking your proposed trading locations.

4. Calculate Fees Based on Duration and Locations
