Positive News for Food Safety Regulations!

We might be in for some big changes that will make food safety regulation fairer for small and micro (cottage), domestic food businesses.

I have just come off a video meeting with the Food Safety Minister, Andrew Hoggard. It was by the most progressive meeting yet. The Minister was very supportive – he was asking for possible solutions to our concerns and shared a clear intention to draw a “new line” to make food safety compliance fairer for small businesses. New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) were also on the call listening in.

Next we have an online meeting with senior NZFS staff, including Deputy-Director General, Vincent Arbuckle, on 4th June.
